Devara was a small village nestled in the heart of the forest, hidden from the rest of the world. The villagers lived a simple life, tending to their crops and livestock, completely unaware of the dark secrets that lurked within their midst. At the center of the village stood a magnificent tree, its branches stretching towards the sky. Legend had it that this tree was blessed by the gods and was the source of the village's prosperity. The villagers worshipped the tree, offering it sacrifices in exchange for its protection. But little did they know, the tree was not the benevolent deity they believed it to be. It was, in fact, a powerful witch named Devara, who had been banished to this tree as punishment for her crimes against humanity. Every night, Devara would emerge from the tree and roam the village, disguised as a beautiful woman, preying on the villagers' fears and desires. She would whisper in their ears, tempting them with promises of wealth and power, and in return, they would offer her their souls. The villagers were none the wiser, blinded by their greed and ambition. But one day, a young girl named Amara stumbled upon Devara's true form while playing in the forest. She was terrified but also intrigued by the witch's power. Amara was a curious and brave girl, and she made it her mission to uncover the truth about Devara. She spent her days studying ancient texts and practicing spells, determined to defeat the witch. As she delved deeper into the secrets of the village, she discovered that her own family was under Devara's spell. Her parents had sacrificed their souls for wealth, and her siblings were slowly succumbing to the witch's influence. With newfound determination, Amara set out to break the curse and free her family and the village from Devara's grasp. The film`s backdrop is centered around the far and forgotten coastal lands of India.The people,or rather the villains,in the film neither fear death nor god and there is no sense of humanity among them. Devara changes this scenario in his inimitable style.
